Lovely feel-good cottagecore magic

This book was a delight to listen to!! If you liked the book Spellshop you'll like this tale of a witch that inherits her grandmother's cottage/bakery & sets out to find out why the magic is awry in town. She is helped in the journey by a shy fae who has the ancient knowledge she needs. I ts a feel-good story for all ages.

very clumsy storytelling

the storyline is jumbled, lots of repetition. one part has the two main characters discover a problem and not even a full chapter later the main female character is asking if the other one knew about it. I really wanted to like this one, but it's very rough and definitely needs refining. Also the two characters grow close very quickly which is odd since the male main character was described as grumpy and standoffish, yet there was none of that in any of the encounters depicted between them or the other villagers.

So bland I couldn’t take it

I literally could not listen to it. What a bland same same boring reading. Who can even understand if the story is good?
