The Witch & the Dragon (Dreadmor Dark Academy Book Two) ~~ I read this on Kindle and listened to it on Audible, and honestly, this book hit even harder the second time around. Between grading, lesson planning, and trying to keep my sanity, bouncing between reading and listening is my lifeline — and this story absolutely delivered. The mix of magic, danger, and undeniable chemistry kept me locked in from start to finish.

This installment dives deeper into the bond between the witch and her dragon protector, and the tension is 🔥. Their connection isn’t rushed — it’s layered, intense, and wrapped in loyalty and danger. You can feel the push-and-pull as secrets come out and trust is tested. The dragon energy is powerful without overpowering her strength, which I really appreciated. She holds her own, and that makes the romance even better.

Without giving too much away, the stakes are higher in this book. The academy feels darker, the threats more real, and the choices more dangerous. There were moments where I caught myself saying, “Oh no… don’t do that,” and that’s when you know the author has you exactly where she wants you. The world-building continues to grow, and you start to see how everything is connected — past, present, and what’s coming next.

The Audible narration brought extra depth to the characters and emotions, especially during the more intense scenes. Hearing the tension, the protectiveness, and the sparks between them made the story even more immersive. This is absolutely one of those books that works beautifully in both formats.

I would definitely recommend this book and series and can’t wait to start on the next book. If you want to know what happens next, you’ll just have to read this series yourself ~ you won’t regret it. 💜📚🐉
