Don't Sleep on Halruaa!

I was unsure how much I would enjoy this book going in; Elaine Cunningham is the queen of Realmsian elf-lore and this book has very few elves. Or so you think! This book centers around the Halruaan wizards but there are some elven/dark elven intrigues going on in the background. I found knowing Elaine's "Evermeet" book and the history of the elven pantheon very useful. Elaine also shows her chops for bringing magical cultures alive and weaving political intrigue into mage society. Loved this whole series.
