A stand alone tale of mythical creatures and enchanted weapons in a world of magic and dark horrors

Aylene was taken from her own and thrown into a world with the Ulverstete. The giant wolf-creatures known as the Ulverstete serve the elves but little do they know they face a terrifying evil that seeks their destruction.

Aylene and her Ulverstete brother Hatalmas must fight against the forces of the Blood Queen and gain the aid of mythical weapons and magical powers to survive.

This is Epic, Dark Fantasy, with Mythical Creatures and Sword and Sorcery with explicit Adult situations that do not fade to grey. This story will further develop the world of Dalantia ruled by the Blood Queen, in her rule of terror! This takes place forty years before “Brothers of Chaos.”

The Wolf Rider by Merick N. H. Ulrik offers a dark and imaginative look into the world of Dalantia, where mythical creatures like the Ulverstete serve elven masters under the shadow of the Blood Queen. I especially liked the dynamic between Aylene and her wolf-brother Hatalmas as they face off against powerful magic and twisted enemies. Andrew Kydd’s narration fits the tone well and adds depth to this intense sword and sorcery tale.

This was my first experience with this author's work, and I was entertained by the story. I liked the characters and the creative creatures which populated the tale. I appreciated the use of magic and the use of magical items. My attention was captured by the scenes of battle. I thought the descriptive steamy scenes were unnecessary, but that was my preference. I was entertained by Andrew Kydd's narration as his performance enhanced my appreciation of the story. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.
