The ornate reading room at the Boston Public Library is quiet—until the tranquility is shattered by a woman's terrified scream. Security guards take charge immediately, instructing everyone inside to stay put until the threat is identified and contained. While they wait for the all-clear, four strangers, who'd happened to sit at the same table, pass the time in conversation, and friendships are struck. Each has his or her own reasons for being in the reading room that morning—it just happens that one is a murderer.

Award-winning author Sulari Gentill delivers a sharply thrilling listen with this unexpectedly twisty literary adventure that examines the complicated nature of friendship and reveals that words can be the most treacherous weapons of all.

it's been a while since a book in the mystery genre has surprised me. This one was incredibly delightful.

This book starts out much better than it ends. It gets rather unbelievable, and the book within the book conceit doesn’t really work.

I’m disappointed as I expected it to be better.
It’s more of a meh. Entertaining enough, but you don’t need to read it.

It’s okay.

Kept me guessing to the end. If you don’t pay attention to the plots created you will get lost. But once you get it it’s a fun ride.

I didn't love this one. It started out well written and then became forced and predictable. I came to read a story. Not a political diatribe. The author chose to deviate into unnecessarily gruesome details. If I could get a refund on this I would.

Not what it appears

The blurb on this book did not allude to anything this book was truly about. That being said, I loved it. Took me for surprise at every turn. Enjoyable listen, quick and to the point. The narrator was great!

Stalk much?
