Critic reviews

harlan Coben is the modern master of the hook-and-twist - luring you in on the first page, only to shock you on the last (Dan Brown)
A cracking thriller that whizzes along at top speed
Harlan Coben specialises in rousing the snake that lurks in the perfectly cut grass of American suburbia ... Coben makes you care about them but never neglects a plot that is full of his trademark shocks
Cements his reputation as a top-class mystery writer
His thrillers come with the guarantee of a great read and a twist in the tale

This, though a bit confusing in the beginning, has the Coban usual way in drawing you in. Unlike many writers where a confusing start turns me off, Coban has always managed to make me want to read more. Though i wouldn't say this is the best I ever read from him, I sill love all his books. The narrator is fabulous and is great in doing the voices of different characters. In some places the book make me laugh out loud, in some, made me sit puzzled and attempting to solve the mystery, but alway, always kept me at the edge of my chair.

I liked the Netflix adaptations of his books a lot and wanted to read them for a long time. This is the first one and is really good. I'm going to buy his other books
