Thought provoking story!

I have worked as part of a team my entire career and this was a really interesting take on team building. Very well narrated.

I liked that the group did some introspection and revisited past behaviors. Each came up with negatives that they now saw they could improve. The take away was to look to yourself and what you can do to make the team better and more cohesive. What's better for the company is better for the individual and team. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest opinion. The narrator did a great job bringing it to life.

Interesting concept

It was a story with lighthearted feel good moments. The characters were enjoyable but i didnt enjoy the narator. I feel he was a bit of overacting.

This is an entertaining book, but I was expecting more thrills and twists. I feel like it started off with a great mystery, but the direction it took, didn’t work as well for me.

Being stranded on an island with co-workers sounds like a pretty rough mixture to me! That’s what happened to 7 co-workers who are on route to a team building retreat.

I listened to the audio and the narrator did a very good job!! It’s a shorter story and I zipped through it quickly.
I still enjoyed the read, just didn’t love it.

Good concept that took forever

The Work Retreat by J E Rowney and narrated by Duncan Galloway is about 4+ long. Six coworkers, all with their own issues and all unhappy about their work circumstances. The boss sends them all to a work retreat to see if their actions can change. Unfortunately, it took forever and a day to get there. The boss wants teamwork and change but the team is not ready in my opinion.
It just took forever to get to the good part. Great concept it just took forever. Thank you to the author for the ARC. Will still read something else from this author to give another chance.
