Interesting. Not what I’d hoped for but good.

I was hoping for an exploration of why Eddie was left behind after giving his all in support of Dagne, and perhaps the correlation to the evils of our welfare system and the destruction which that mentality causes. Didn’t get either, but did enjoy Ayn Randy’s background story very much. “I swear by my life and my love of it….” Makes so much sense.

Entertaining

Atlas shrugged is NOT masterfully written as this implies, but it is an interesting book worth reading . This audiobook gives some interesting background information and is worth the short listen

Okay but not great

It's was okay. Not great. I thought it was a summary not a prelude. Wish I had read other reviews carefully 1st

Absolutely life altering

This book takes a hard and honest look at the results of unintended consequences. While one's intentions may be one thing, actual human behavior is another. Mandated altruism is put on trial and hypocrisy is exposed. The book takes an enormous amount of patience and Ayn Rand would have been better served with a more insistant editor. She tends to be repetitive in her message but the message itself is truly and undeniably insightful as to what truly motivates man. Well worth the time invested. My biggest regret is that I didn't come across this book until I was 35. This will definitely be required reading (listening) for my two young boys.

One of the Top Ten Books (STORY) ever written!

Who is John Galt? You have to read the book to find out.
There is nothing I can say that hasn't been said before about this story. Everyone alive should read it - if not to agree with the positions taken - but to see what can happen if Government is allowed to act unimpeded.

Ms. Rand will go down in history (already has) as one of the Great Story Writers of All Time. This novel is one of the reasons why. A must read for many reasons.
