The Write Time

Jenny and Ben have been friends for nine years, since they both started teaching at the local high school. He has also been in love with her for just as long. Their timing as never right.

This is a duel time line flipping between present day and the past. I really enjoyed getting into the back story of Jenny and Ben’s relationship and how it developed and changed. The slow burn and chemistry between the two is…ohhh. I also loved how Mac and Daniel are still very present in Jenny and Ben’s story.

Oh my this book was SO GOOD. I would totally recommend this book. Has some spice, and some tough topics that are brought up, with an HEA.
This is book 2 in the Leade Park series.

Great story + easy listen

The narrators were easy to listen to and captured the characters well. The story was very real and relatable. 4⭐️

What a fantastic second book in the series!

Jenny + Ben were so sweet! Ben has the patience of saint and Jenny has had so much growth in the book! I loved to see Mac + Daniel references too! It filled my cup up!

Fantastic Story and Narration

Have you ever read a book where the characters seem so real that you could meet them for coffee, give them a hug, and have a conversation that lasts hours? The second installment of the Leade Park series (really best to read The Write Place first) emphasized real life: normal middle-aged characters (with an established job but a troubled love life), female friendship, and perseverance/secretive pining. Told with a narrative of present day and flashbacks, Jenny and Ben’s almost decade long journey to romance is disclosed, with Jenny struggling and going through one non-committal relationship after another and her longtime friend and coworker Ben’s solid friendship through it all. (High five to Ben!) A low-spice, friends-to-lovers romance with so much heart. 4.5 stars
I enjoyed this on audio. The single female narrator, Megan Carver, had a wide range of emotions and I appreciated how she gave each character a unique voice.

A fantastic second chance love story

This series has my whole heart. Jenny & Ben's story is so sweet. You can't help but root for them! Megan did a fantastic job with the narration!
