She's hiding something big. He's hiding someone small.

Bridger Macaulley used to be a player both on and off the ice. But now, while his teammates chase the next hockey victory, Bridger worries that the dean will discover he's housing his eight-year-old sister in his dorm room. Juggling a full course load and a big secret, it's only a matter of time until the other skate drops.

Scarlet Crowley is the only freshman at Harkness College who had to sneak past TV news trucks parked on her front lawn just to leave town. Her name is as new as the shiny student ID it's printed on. The only way to survive college will be to conceal her identity, even if it means lying to the green-eyed boy she's falling for.

Bridger and Scarlet form a tentative relationship based on the understanding that some things must always be held back. But when grim developments threaten them both, going it alone just won't work anymore. And if they can't learn to trust one another now, the families who let them down will take everything they've struggled to keep.

I am listening to these one right.after the other. The characters are good and the stories very enjoyable. The readers do a good job. Sarina knows howbto write great characters and these are romances but much more.

I love Bridger and Scarlett's story. My heart really went out to both of these characters. And Bridger's sister, Lucy, just added to this heartwarming story. Sarina Bowen gives us another winning addition to this college hockey romance series and its rocking all the checkpoints in this romance lover's heart. Kudos to Nick Podehl and Saskia Maarleveld for bringing the characterization to life. Absolutely wonderful!

An engaging story with secrets and discovery

I really loved how this story played out. It was a nice slower build up but no overly so. The narration is done well and made it a really good listen.

Great continuation

Scarlet tries to escape the camera's scrutiny at home by changing her name and running off th college. She meets Bridger in her first two classes, who has a secret of his own. The story intertwines two tough subjects in very serious situations but does so in a way that works well. The story is laid out nicely, flows brilliantly and was a great book to read. I was lucky enough to have the audiobook and that enhanced the emotional pull of the characters. Nick Podehl does a great job with Bridger but it took me some getting used to his female character voice. Saskia Maarleveid was a great choice for this series and presented a strong but human Scarlet.
I'm excited to read more in the Ivy League series.

Touchy subject but well written
