The Boy on the Beagle
An Uncharted Voyage of Discovery, Desire, and the Human Spirit

When sixteen-year-old Simon Rook, orphaned and adrift in Victorian England, stows away aboard HMS Beagle, he has only one wish: to stay near the man who saved him from a life of loneliness. But the sea has a way of revealing truths more profound than any destination.

Set against the backdrop of the legendary Beagle expedition, this richly layered historical novel charts Simon’s perilous journey from hidden corners of the ship to the windswept decks where he learns the ropes — and the deeper currents of the heart. As the Beagle sails into uncharted waters, Simon finds kinship among the crew, confronts the treacherous designs of jealous men, and awakens to desires he scarcely dares to name.

Tender, honest, and sometimes unflinchingly raw, The Boy on the Beagle is a coming-of-age story that blends high-seas adventure with the quiet, luminous moments that shape a life. This is a tale of courage and longing, of the search for belonging in a world both wondrous and unforgiving.

For readers who love historical voyages, character-driven storytelling, and an unvarnished look at the hidden lives aboard a 19th-century ship, this is a novel to savor.

it ends so randomly. surely there is a part 2? I enjoyed the story until it randomly ended. You could tell the author researched life in those times. I enjoyed how it wasn't as graphic with the sexual scenes but got the point across.
