Stumbling Blocks in my Walk with God

Sin and the devil have largely disappeared from modern preaching and teaching. They are now hiding in plain sight but ignored my most believers. Nehemiah had the right idea when he prayed in Nehemiah 1, that we have acted very corruptly and have not kept God’s commandments, nor have we sought holiness with our whole heart. But The Almighty has said that if we humble ourselves, turn from our wicked ways, seek His face, and pray, God will hear from heaven and forgive our sin and heal our land.

This book is about seeing our wicked ways, sins which we don’t even realize that we are committing repeatedly. But God is El Roi, the God who sees everything, and our sins, so easily committed by us, are an affront to His Holiness. We are missing the mark that He desires for us. Romans 1 says that the wrath of God is revealed against all ungodliness and unrighteousness against those who suppress the truth. Our ignoring sin and making no attempt to stop is suppressing the truth, and the wrath of God is held back only by His Grace.

What are these sins that we are ignoring? I invite you to journey with me through a plethora of sins very often accepted in the society of today. We hardly think about them, let alone bow before God, confessing them, seeking forgiveness, and then trying to repent of them by changing our behavior.

Sanctification is a day-by-day process, and we all have need of it going deeper into our lives to deal with the collection of sins contained herein.
