New Orleans Is It's Own Special Place

My first Christina Dodd book. I loved the story, the characters and the narrator. Each character is very unique and Natalie Ross is right on with the voices and tempo of the book. I have listened to this book three times and I will listen to it again because it is so enjoyable. Definitely worth the credit.

Fun story!

This was a really great story, well written, well read by the narrator. The chemistry between the 2 main characters was intense! Some laugh-out-loud parts, especially with the "aunts".

Very good

I really enjoyed this book. It's a mixture of my favorite things, a sexy relationship, crime, drama and a shot of humor. Yes this one made me a very happy listener. It was worth my credit, but I got it on sale and that's fine too.

Meh

Good premise but too much sex. Even though there was an “excuse” for his bad behavior, it’s not a good idea to get involved with jerks like that, he seems like abuse is around the corner.

it's alright, but kind of doesn't make sense......

Good narration and fun plot points didn't do much to mask that there were parts in this book that just didn't make sense--like how they main character is supposed to be so smart but then is nonsensically blackmailed--more than once! Same goes for the pace of the relationship, which seems to happen within a week.

Entertaining enough, but not exactly smart chick lit. I'm also not sure why the title or "cover art" are what they are--it doesn't really have anything to do with the story. So wierd! They even mention red heels a few times in the book, yet the cover model is wearing black. I haven't listened to anything else from this author, but it just seems like this book was kind of slapped together and just makes enough sense to pass.
