Gripping edge of your seat

This continuation of the series keeps you guessing, waiting and wanting more chapter after chapter.

Narrator leaves something to be desired....

I've enjoyed this series in paperback originally, Rachel Caine is one of my favourite authors. The Weather Wardens have always held a special place in my heart, so I was ecstatic to get these on audible! However.... the narrator is tone deaf and frequently reads passages with the wrong inflection according to the scene, so many words pronounced incorrectly you could make a game out of finding them. In short, I better stop listening to these, otherwise I may not like this series anymore and I find that incredibly unfortunate.

My Girl !!!

Everywhere Joann goes there are weather problems. She is funny resourceful and always horny for David. I enjoy see her get into trouble through her altruistic endowers. I am waiting for David to tell her that if you let me kill him in book one he would not be a problem now! But??? I don???t think that would matter, since dead does not necessary mean dead. Fast cars, weather hair, great shoes, and lots of attitude makes this series a fun read.

Joanne: the perpetual chump

At this point, I’m listening at 1.7x to finish the series and only because I bought all nine books at once.
It’s frustrating to have filler books, barely moving the needle on the series arc until the last chapter.
Every book involves Joanne falling prey to people and beings and I’ve yet to see her be smart enough to see any of it coming. This book doubles down on annoyances with memory loss, which is kind of interesting, but mostly just rehashes the previous books from other people’s POVs.
This is a one and done listen.
