Coming from an indigenous point of view, this book is an amazing read. The fact that the author is a lakota is amazing.

The steps to take in becoming indigenous to the land one lives on are perfect for modern people trapped by the dominant culture. As a person who started this process in the Southern Appalachians 55 years ago, every word resonates with me. Deep Gratitude to Goodfeather and the teachings of the tribal elders (most of whom are ancestors now) who have counseled with me since I was 20.
