Then Lake meets a boy unlike anyone she's encountered before, who unflinchingly embraces the darkest parts of her life and who believes that all resurrections are wrong.

liked it, except for the ending.

The concept is very interesting, and I liked most of it. . . but I am really annoyed with the ending.

A fine story

A little bit of a slow pace to start. Overall though good story, should be considered a romantic sci-fi

So, I have thoughts about this. I loved the concept, but really struggled with the execution. With a subject this dark, I was hoping for something deeper, but it felt like I was reading a teenager’s diary. I get it…it’s a young adult novel, but that doesn’t mean that the characters can’t have complex thoughts or emotions. The main character was hard to relate to at times. But I think mostly, this didn’t feel like a good representation of grief. She witnessed the deaths of her boyfriend and best friend and it seemed like she just went on like nothing happened like “oh man, time to find more friends.” It just didn’t seem like any genuine emotion was shown.
