This left him slightly deaf. He remained very curious and wanted to experiment with everything. He even rubbed two cats together once to see if they would create a spark! Editorial reviews

This is a short but enjoyable primer on a fascinating character, filled with fun facts, whimsical music, and even some nostalgic vocal effects thrown in for good measure. Kids will enjoy learning about the adventures of a young Edison, as well as his many inventions and accomplishments in adulthood. A good choice for kids fascinated by inventions and machines, and suitable for younger children as well as older ones. Performer Leah Vandenburg's voice is caramel-sweet, and she does an excellent job conveying a sense of fun.

Critic reviews

"I'm learning all sorts of stuff about stuff I didn't even know I didn't know. And it sticks. In a nutshell: wonderful." (Jonathon Margolis, Financial Times)

This story shows how Thomas Edison got started and how he learned to invent things that people would buy, needed or were interested in. I had no idea that Thomas Edison worked on so many inventions; "he made or improved over one-thousand inventions".

Interesting to know a little more about Thomas Alva Edison besides the improvisation of a working electric light bulb which certainly changed the world. By the age 30, Edison had 300 people under him working on over 50 inventions. No wonder he had 1093 inventions and discoveries patented in his name. Nice performance by Leah Vandenburg.

Light bulb! 💡

This five minute listen is very informative as well as entertaining. If you think you know all about Thomas Edison, think again 😉. He wasn't well liked in school, so much so, that he finally had to be taught at home by his mother. Yet his inquisitive mind was far advanced above his peers. I guess that the other kids just didn't know what to make of a boy that rubbed two cats together to see if he could get a spark 😂. Some inventions were not successful or appreciated, but he didn't give up or stop trying. An excellent lesson for today's youth. Such an important inventor and man in history. One of the BEST iMINDS shorts so far. Don't miss it!

The Kid Who Rubbed Two Cats Together 🤣
