Ryan Kealey has no doubt that the forces seeking to tip this teetering world into chaos are just getting better. Better equipped, better organized, and, most terrifying of all, more patient. And despite all the ELINT, the all-seeing electronic intelligence gathered at Langley, nothing stops a devastating attack from ripping through the heart of San Antonio, Texas.

Wrenched from retirement to work the Texas tragedy, Kealey learns of a far greater threat in the Middle East. A radical terrorist group claims possession of a powerful ancient relic, the Staff of Moses, which they will use to unleash plagues across the globe. To avert unimaginable devastation, lone-wolf Kealey, armed with little more than intuition, must prevent a disaster of biblical proportions that may well be inevitable.

"Britton's plots seem to jump straight out of the headlines." ( St. Louis Post Dispatch)

This narrator would be perfect for children's cartoons, but for this genre it was horrible. it was so bad I could not get through the book. I tried six different times and I couldn't do it. He over enunciates most of the words, and over exaggerates every sentence. Every character is a cartoonish character. I'm betting this guy probably has been doing children's books for a long time. maybe even children's cartoons. I've listened to this entire series and I'm very disappointed that I cannot finish this last one in the series. I've listened to some narrators that were bad but I was still able to finish the book. I just couldn't do it with this one. I'm sorry I had to give this book such a bad review, I highly recommend the series, Ryan Keeley is a great character, and the stories are well thought out. I just don't understand why they went with a narrator like this. Maybe the narrator was a middle school drama teacher, and that's the only way he knows how to read a story, but that is not the audience that will buy this book. SMFH!

Good book. terrible narration

Would you consider the audio edition of Threatcon Delta to be better than the print version?

The print version is always better than the audio edition but reading at 75mph is difficult.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes the story was quite good.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The halting cadence and variable inflection of David Ledoux made me think that I had mistakenly downloaded William Shatner reads Tolstoy. Perhaps it is just me but I won't be getting another book in the series unless the narrator changes.

Good story hard listen.

The narrator’s voice and performance was nearly unbearable. Britton obviously gave little concern to the main character and the story line. Like others I finished it because I bought it. Hard pass

Disappointed from the very beginning

Would you try another book from Andrew Britton and/or David Ledoux?

I've listened to all the Ryan Kealey series. Story wise this might not be the best but it's still pretty good. The narration left much to be desired.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Middle east settings have become so much the standard in this genre that there is little left to be educated on.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Wow! A lot.
Lack of inflection. Little distinction among characters and a somewhat sing/song cadence
Bring back Christopher Lane..

Did Threatcon Delta inspire you to do anything?

No

Any additional comments?

I think it would be a better read than listen.

Was this the same writing from the previous series? I thought it was just me but read some of the other reviews and it wasn't just me, whew, I thought I was going crazy. Whoever this reader was it was horrible narration.

Same writer?
