Stephanie Plum, the beloved bounty hunter with attitude returns in this irresistiblly funny adventure from Janet Evanovich, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Dirty Thirty and “most popular mystery writer alive” (The New York Times).

Stephanie is having a bad hair day—for the whole month of January. She’s looking for Mo Bedemier, ice cream man and Trenton’s most beloved citizen, who was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and skipped bail.

To help her, she’s got Lula, a former hooker turned file clerk. Lula’s itching to lock up a crook in the trunk of her car. And Morelli, the cop with the slow-burning smile, is acting polite even after Stephanie finds more bodies than the Trenton PD has seen in years. That’s a bad sign for sure.

Featuring a feisty and funny heroine who “comes roaring in like a blast of very fresh air” (The Washington Post), Three to Get Deadly is fast-paced and entertaining suspense at its finest.

This is a mystery/thriller/comedy. The Evanovich books are light, silly and fun. They are not for someone who wants a real thriller or deep mystery. This book is another Stephanie Plum book and, like the rest, is very entertaining and well written. Stephanie is the world's worst bounty hunter who lives in NJ. She solves her dilemmas not by reasoning but by totally bumbling into solving them.

Some of the characters in these books stretch credibility but if you accept these books for the comical read they are, they are among the best of their genre. For example, in this book her ex-streetwalker friend, Lula, becomes a bounty-hunter-in-training and she proves to be a hilarious sidekick for Stephanie.

In “Three To Get Deadly” Stephanie's mission is to hunt down Uncle Mo, a beloved candy-store owner, with a very interesting secret life. It's hilarious to watch everyone's reaction whenever Stephanie reveals who it is she's after because “he has never done anything wrong”! The good people of Trenton look down on Stephanie for even thinking of taking in Uncle Mo. There are of course drug dealers and corpses with parts missing along the way.

I highly recommended this light hearted and well-written mystery.

Mystery/Thriller/Comedy a delight and fast read

The narration was abysmal!! She was practically slurring!! The stories are fun, but I could not listen to this...

Worst narrator EVER!

I started with "To the Nines" and then went to "Hard Eight" .. when I realized I loved these books and had to have more I started at the begining and am now on "Four to Score". The only problem I had with the first three was Lori Petty who read the books.. I'm glad there is a new narrator. You have to try reading these books.. they are GREAT!

Love the Stephanie Plum series!

I not only enjoy reading about Stepanie Plum -- I also look forward to listening to the books on my iPod. It's fun to see where Stepanie started out in her relationships with Ranger, Morelli, Lula, etc. Lori Petty is not my favorite reader in the Plum series. Lorelei King is much better. Why no unabridged version for those of us who love Janet Evanovich?

Love Stephanie Plum

until I discovered Lori Petty doesn't narrate any of the remaining Stephanie Plum books. Lori Petty is great and made the audio books for me. I love her Jersey accent and quirky voice.

I'm not hip on any of the other narrators except maybe Debi Mazar so after listening to those, I'll finish the rest of the books by reading not listening. I think this is a great series and really enjoy Janet's style of writing.
