For the first time ever, discover the truth of what happened in the Paris Opera House as seen through the eyes of the Opera Ghost.

It is a tale of the pain and rapture of a first love, of betrayal, of shining dreams, of rage and forgiveness.

It is a tale of the human condition – of the angel and the monster within each of us.

It is the true story behind the Phantom of the Opera.

As a fan of Gaston Leroux’s Phantom of the Opera, I was enthralled by Davyne DeSye’s Through the Eyes of the Opera Ghost. Leroux’s tone is dark and mysterious, painting Erik as a terrifying genius lurking in the shadows. DeSye flips that perspective beautifully—inviting us into Erik’s mind and heart. Instead of fear, you feel empathy. His longing, brilliance, and pain come alive in a way that makes him achingly human.
The setting retains the grandeur of the Paris Opera House, but the tone shifts toward romantic and intimate, creating a story that feels both familiar and refreshingly new. If you’ve ever wished to understand the Phantom beyond the mask, this book delivers.
I already loved DeSye’s Phantom Rising series that tells Erik’s story before and after becoming the Opera Ghost. This book completes Erik’s portrait perfectly, and make me want to go back and re-read the others again.
