As Charley mulls her future plans, sans husband, a letter arrives to inform her that Annabelle Travis has left her a beach house on an obscure island off the coast of Charleston, S.C. Who is Annabelle Travis? Charley’s father was from South Carolina, but Charley has no connection to his family. Charley travels to Charleston, anxious to learn about a family she never knew.

Turtle Island is the perfect place for a photographer like Charley to hide out while she re-evaluates her life. She loves the weathered beach house that holds the echoes of past generations of her family. As she connects to a family she never knew, blank spaces in her life begin to fill in.

Charley isn’t interested in romance, but she can’t help but notice the handsome attorney, Alex, who owns a beach house next-door. He’s very friendly, always around, and ready to assist his new neighbor. Charley begins to wonder how a corporate attorney has so much free time to spend at the beach. Is his helpfulness just Southern hospitality, or is it something more? Charley stumbles upon the answer at Alex’s beach house.
