To find the love they need, two men must overcome a world of differences.
Jeremy Ringer enjoys the important things in life: surf and sand - beach and bartending - practicing Taoism. Until a death in the family sends him across the state, and he realizes that the simple things are not enough.
Ollie Mendosa is only interested in one thing - the new police app he's developing. That is until he meets one of the crime victims, the beach-loving Jeremy Ringer. Ollie’s protective nature is brought out in full force, and he can't resist the temptation of a summer fling.
They’re drawn together in a plan to enjoy the summer, but the the heat is on when the criminals return.
A stand-alone MM romance.

My first instinct wasn't to give this story four stars. I listened to the audiobook. The narrator's different "voices" completely took away any seriousness or heat in the book because I couldn't stand them. I had to step back and only judge it based on the writing. If I went with only the narration, it probably wouldn't get three stars.
Jeremy Ringer doesn't have a lot of goals in life as long as the beach is close by and he has a job for expenses. He practices Taoism which is constantly entered into his reactions in life. Then his aunt dies so he travels back to the town he grew up in. While cleaning out his aunt's apartment, he falls victim to a crime. In reporting the theft, he meets Ollie Mendosa. Before meeting Jeremy, the only thing he cared about was developing an app to be used by law enforcement. If I had read the book, I would have loved him because he was alpha hotness as well as darkly gorgeous. But because I listened to the audiobook, the narrator ruined his character for me. The narrator was a wonderful singer but not a very good narrator.
It was a sweet story with two men realizing that having a loving relationship might not be too bad. This is my honest opinion, freely given.
Not entirely positive
