The first step to letting go of the past is forgiving it.…

Every day of her life Julia Rich lives with the memory of a horrible accident she caused long ago. In the years since, she has tried to hide her guilt in the quiet routine of teaching at a small South Carolina college, avoiding close relationships with family and would-be friends. But one day a phone call from Carmen, a niece she has never met, disrupts her carefully controlled world. Carmen is a study in contrasts - comical yet wise, sunny yet contemplative, soft yet assertive. As she sets about gently drawing Julia from her self-imposed solitude into a place of hope, she also seeks her own peace for past mistakes.

Together, the two women embark on a journey that takes Julia far from the familiar comfort of home and gives Carmen the courage to open her heart. Together, their sightseeing trip turns into a discovery of truth, grace, redemption, and, finally, love. …

This story resonated with me because the author used a young person to change an older person. God has employed this same technique in my life as well. I love Ms Turner’s redemption stories. This is only the second book I’ve read. The first being Tending Roses.

A redemption story

"To See the Moon Again" involves forgiveness and a desire to start over. It also recognizes that starting over doesn't mean that the past can be undone. These are true thoughts that Turner addresses well. Carmen comes across as a little too good for all that she has been through, but Julia is believable, especially because of her faults. I enjoyed this book.

Not always believable and slow at points, but moving and thought-provoking

I Just finished this thoughtful and riveting story of forgiveness .It is about a Bitter middle aged English Professor who is visited by her brothers daughter ... a homeless runaway named Carmen . She is a delight. This is a multi-layered story of family disfunction ,grudges and wrong choices.
Deeply analytical it comes to a wonderful climax of right choices and redemption. If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would.
The Narrator was perfect . I love Jamie Langston Turner .Her books are always well developed with wonderful characters . Try "Some Wildflower in My Heart" which is another amazingly well written story.

Beautiful Story of Forgiveness and Selfless Love

I loved this book. A few twists and unexpected events. It was fun to have the brother and daughter in Wyoming! The narrator did a fantastic job making each character sound different.

Ms. Turner does it again!
