Three weeks before Thanksgiving, bookshop owner Addie Greyborne already has a full plate - and a killer on her case....

Addie's determined to turn a seemingly ordinary November in coastal Greyborne Harbor into one for the books. The windows of her shop display carefully curated works by American writers, including a rare selection of traditional holiday recipes from the influential 19th-century publication Godey's Ladies Magazine. And then there's the town's Civil War-era themed cooking and baking competition, with a hefty cash prize and free publicity going to the winning dish....

But when she finds her cousin's boyfriend murdered, a stunned Addie reluctantly realizes she may be the only person who can blow the cover off a grisly crime. With so many unanswered questions surrounding the victim's death, Addie must figure out the strange connection between a mysterious vintage briefcase, the disappearance of a first-edition copy of Sarah Josepha Hale's famous nursery rhyme "Mary Had a Little Lamb", and a dangerously well-read culprit....

I don’t know why you would switch narrators in the middle of a series. Not to mention one that doesn’t differentiate her voice between characters. They all sound the same. Hard to tell who’s speaking. Very very disappointed. Still determining if I want to return the book. 😖😖

Narrator

The story line is a good one. The narrator is not as good as she could be. I really liked the previous narrator for this series.

Good story

Characters likable, plot well thought out - very wordy.
Are these authors paid by the word ? Will try one more in the series, before making final decision

Interesting plot

The story was what I expected and I really like the characters. I really struggled with the new narrator. One second she was whispering and the next she was yelling. I spent most of my time turning the volume up and down in the car. Frustrating!

Ok story but hard to adjust to a new narrator

I hope everyone that complained about the old narrator is satisfied. The new narrator is terrible and makes the book almost impossible to listen to. All the characters sound the same and she is too shouty.
I am skipping the next book and going right to the last one. I probably won’t finish this one.

New Narrator is Awful
