Twelve-year-old Phoebe Callahan longs to enjoy a storybook Christmas. So, after she learns that she and her three girl cousins will spend their holiday vacation in New England on their grandma's island estate, she plans the Christmas of her dreams.

When she reaches Gull Island, the cold breeze and cloudy skies foster her fondest fantasy - a white Christmas. Phoebe imagines her grandma's stately three-story home with lights in every window. But after Grandma Gee's heirloom angel shatters, Phoebe learns that life's greatest joy comes from giving to others.

The storyline and reading are fine, but the production is very strange. There will be long pauses (10 seconds) without there being a discernible reason. And some new chapters start so suddenly and abruptly that you think you’ve missed a section of the book. Somewhat difficult to listen to because of this. It seems as if you are missing sections of the book.

Weird production quality

This series of books is clean and sweet, but the fact that the girls are all 12 y/o is unrealistic as no 12 y/o's talk this way. On the other hand, the girls' actions sometimes are very immature, such as, in the previous book (book #3) the entire story is based on speculations and assumptions and imaginings instead of just asking the grandmother a question. In this 4th book, the narrator swallows all the time, really annoying, not the norm for Stina Nielson so really disappointing. I definitely won't listen to any more Audible Kids books, but might possibly recommend them to parents with young girls in this case.

okay story, okay narration
