Tomkin Thornhewn, youngest son of the Duke of Marshwell, has a problem: He’s not heroic.

Regardless of his aspirations, the bookish, untrained young man is better suited to recording the deeds of heroes than being one himself.

Which becomes an obvious problem when he finds himself clinging to a ledge above a sleeping dragon. And instead of wielding his family’s great sword with valor and skill, he drops it - onto the dragon.

The problem grows immeasurably worse when Tomkin himself falls off the ledge - also onto the dragon.

And his problem reaches its peak when Tomkin, after being captured, discovers a maiden locked in a tower. But this is no sweet damsel. Not only does she refuse to be rescued, she refuses to even admit she’s in distress.

It’s too bad for the people of Marshwell that Tomkin is the only thing standing - or falling - in the dragon’s way.

JA Andrews introduced the world to the magic-wielding, world-saving, story-telling Keepers in A Threat of Shadows. Now you can enjoy one of the Keeper’s most-beloved tales: The story of Tomkin and the dragon, in this engaging, lighthearted novel.

A Keeper's Tale: The Story of Tomkin and the Dragon is a stand-alone story. The Keepers in The Keeper Chronicles are, among other things, storytellers. This is the retelling of one of their favorite tales. It can be listened to at any time with respect to The Keeper Chronicles.

absolutely loved it. favorite in the series only wish it was longer or there were more of these stories by the keepers. I was worried if would not hold up to all the hype since it's named as the most requested or favorite story multiple times in the keeps chronicles but it did not disappoint.

wonderful

This is a wonderful story, read by an incredible narrator! I listened to the Keeper's Chronicles, which were great, but this story was wonderful too. It was funny, sad, a real comment about human nature! I wish it was longer, or had more books to follow! Read this, you won't be sorry!

A Truly Enjoyable Listen!

Fun read, stands alone well, but also fits in the wider Keeper series in a great way.

Great Story

I listened to this after Chronicles, so comparison to narrator made accepting this one difficult. But nice story!!

Not thrilled with narration, but enjoyed the story
