Searching for the source of a bizarre Rift reading, Gwen, Jack and Ianto find a corpse on the beach, his face covered in hundreds of tiny cuts. Watching from the shadows is a man in black... The Reverend Hayward thinks he has found a way to take away people’s sins. The trouble is his special baptisms tend to take away their lives, too, for the creatures he collects and puts in his church font are nightmarish parasites, feeding on their hosts’ negative emotions before consuming them. It is up to Torchwood to track them down and destroy them... Written especially for audio by Brian Minchin, The Sin Eaters features Captain Jack Harkness, Gwen Cooper and Ianto Jones, as played by John Barrowman, Eve Myles and Gareth David-Lloyd in the hit series from BBC Television. Contains adult themes and language.©2009 Brian Minchin; (P)2009 BBC Audiobooks Ltd Entertainment & Performing Arts Fantasy Radio Science Fiction Fiction

So far this is my favorite one of the Torchwood audio books. The story is a little campy, but in a good way. Gareth's narration is first-rate; he does the various character voices and accents very convincingly.

Pretty Good

Gareth David-Lloyd does a great job of narrating the story even managing to wrangle Jack's personality quite well in spite of not quite hitting the accent right. The story is action packed with some nice moments between Jack and Ianto. Any established Torchwood fan will be pleased with the story although those newer to the 'verse may be a bit lost as not much is explained regarding persons and events that are referred to. There are also a number of allusions and mentions regarding the British show Top Gear as well as references to British race car drivers which may confuse American listeners or at least throw them out of the story a bit. Enjoyable romp that could have made a really solid episode.

Surprisingly deft narration and a solid plot

This is a great representation of Torchwood. If you like the show, this will bring you back. Gareth David-Lloyd narrates this beautifully and captures each charecter's voice/inflections amazingly well. Would recommend.

What would Cardiff do without Torchwood?
