Tough Justice Countdown is a crime thriller that kept me interested from beginning to end. The story itself was excellent. I really enjoyed the twists and the way the author incorporated realistic elements of how the FBI works. It didn’t feel like a fairy tale with a perfectly wrapped ending, which I appreciated. The main characters, Nick and Lara, do get a happy ending, but not in the traditional way, which made the story feel more authentic.

This is the second series, and I had previously listened to the first one. The narration in that series was wonderful, so I went into this one expecting the same experience. Unfortunately, I found the narration here a bit disappointing in comparison.

The character voices didn’t always stay consistent, and many of the characters had a similar monotone, uninterested tone. At times it felt like the narrator wasn’t very engaged with the material, which made some parts harder to stay immersed in.

That said, the strength of the story still made it a worthwhile listen. If you enjoy long audiobooks, a good mystery with twists, and you’re not too bothered by voice acting where character voices occasionally change, you’ll likely still enjoy this one.

Great Story and Twists, but the Narration Fell a B

This was described as a christian novel. The cussing and swearing and sex were disgusting. I can hardly believe you would call this christian . Not anything Christian about it. And really you authors should be ashamed

It was a good story
