Generally speaking, if there's trouble with in-laws in a family, blame is quickly assigned to the father- or mother-in-law. But they are not always to blame. Many fathers- and mothers-in-law are wonderful folks, beloved parents, good communicators, and fun-loving people. When their son or daughter ends up married to a person with immature attitudes, an abusive personality, or excessive emotional baggage, these parents are now stuck with a son- or daughter-in-law who makes their lives a living hell. What was once a loving family now finds itself turned upside down by a toxic, self-centered individual.

Toxic Sons- and Daughters-in-Law helps expose the harmful attitudes and actions of a difficult son- or daughter-in-law and calls for biblical repentance and change. Untangling the destructive and dysfunctional nature of their abusive behavior will help parents manage the painful process of rejection, manipulation, and anger. Practical counsel throughout the book will guide parents through the minefield of emotions to a God-glorifying conclusion and a lifestyle marked by application of biblical principles.

I have been struggling so much with the situation with my pastor son and daughter-in-law. Doyle has given me almost a new lease on life. Also, he let me know how to approach the situation, which is currently estranged. I had no idea so many daughters in law and sons in law caused so many problems. Why does my church not teach anything about this? Since finding this book, several other books were suggested, and I plan to read those as well. God bless Doyle Roth.
I suggested not long ago that our church small group study how to parent adult children. Now I realize they are probably embarrassed to discuss it.

My mind is finally relieved.

I was immediately engrossed!!!!
I can’t tell you how much this book has helped me!!! It made me look inward as well as looking at the situation I’m in with both my Son in-law & Daughter in-law… yeah ~ double whammy!!! I will reference this book often in the future as I try to mend the relationship I have with not just the “outsiders” but with my Children first & foremost. I will SMILE, KEEP MY MOUTH SHUT, PERSEVERE IN PRAYER, BE FLEXIBLE, LET HARMFUL WORDS & ACTIONS SLIDE RIGHT OFF OF ME, SPEAK THE TRUTH IN LOVE.

I have humbled by the words in this book & for that I am blessed.
Peace be with you…

This book is excellent for individuals in this situation to help them realize they aren't alone and to ease the insanity felt when a toxic peeaon takes over the life of a beloved child. It is a reminder, from a Christian perspective, of the reality of both the situation and how to handle it so that our own behavior and character will not be compromised. I appreciated the scriptoral references, they were comforting and supportive.

Reminder-how to conduct ourselves the best we can
