Despite being dumped on a primitive alien world, Lily is adapting to life there, with the help of Frrar, Tor, and Arruk. But they can’t stay in the safety of the caves forever. The flood waters have receded and it’s time to join the rest of the tribe...

While traveling, their group meets a familiar face from Arruk’s past - a man half feral and covered in vicious scars. Something about him draws Lily in, despite those who already hold her heart. But that isn’t her biggest concern.

Can Lily keep the Tribe Mother from discovering just how much being with her has changed her new mates? Will the tribe accept her, a stranger in their lands? Or will Lily have to fight the very people who were supposed to offer her safety and a home?

Note: This is a full length novel, is not a stand-alone, and ends on a slight cliffhanger.

I liked the first book a lot, so I used a credit for the next. I don't like the way they end so abrubtly but appreciate its not a cliffhanger either. I like the guys, like the fmc and the introduction if the 4th. The planet is interesting but there are so many plot holes, unanswered questions, more questuons raised and the endless inner monologues if the fmc are frustrating. Seriously, pages of them between conversations, and so repetitive. Based on the other books I have read by this author, this seems to be her style. Will read the next couple, beacause I plan to skip and skim all that introspection if the fmc, its so annoying. I want more communication between the main characters. Also is it just me, but the fmc spending months in the same underwear is really gross.

So, book 1 had an odd format for the narration/POVs. The female narrator read the male and female POVs, but the male reader read all the actual male dialogue. It wasn’t bad, just different. It made it sort of difficult to remember whose POV you were in at the time. This is much better. The male reader voices all the male POVs and the male dialogue, and the female reader voices the FMC and reads her POV/internal monologues.

The storytelling and world building are still 5/5 for me, considering the genre. Yes, it’s a bit slow, but that’s only because you are learning alongside the FMC rather than an annoying info dump at the beginning of the book.

I am still glad the FMC doesn’t jump right into bed (literally) with a new love interest. There’s a real relationship growing between them. No intsalove and immediate bang session. It makes for a sweet slow burn and some angst without being overly drawn out and immature.

Will definitely keep reading!

I have the first 3 ebooks of this series and have reread them several times already. I am in great anticipation for the 4th book and will get both the ebook as well as the Audio version as soon as they become available.

I simply enjoy the way Stacy Jones wrote Lily's character. Her attitude towards her situation seems to be realistic in my opinion. Well as realistic as a fictional character in a fictional situation can be. I find the character's way of readily adapting her way of thinking in accordance with her circumstances so much more refreshing than all those sci-fi romances where the main character finds herself in another galaxy yet still expects the beings to think and behave the way humans would. No. These characters as alien as they may seem are mature in the way they are written which makes it a very enjoyable read for this avid reader who abhors angst. There are lots of sexy times but not overly so.

The narration is spot on as well. As soon as the book begins, you forget that you are listening to the story. The narrator seamlessly brings all the characters to life.

All in all a very enjoyable read and listen.

I still love this series.
