Fantastic Fantasy

Quick world building and executed really well. Love all the narrators! The only thing I would really want would be if this was a duet style narration. With as many narrators duet would have been the cherry on top.

Loved the full-cast dual-style narration!

📚 Book Review 📚
This is shaping up to be Tessa’s best series yet! I found this first book, Twilight of Embers, to be a quick and highly entertaining read, full of magic, mystery, and action.

In Twilight of Embers, we are launched back into Tessa’s supernatural world of shifters and other magical beings, fated mates, naïve FMCs, and dangers from all sides. This time, we have a hoard of dragon shifters who discover that the new freshman at their school may not be human at all but a suppressed dragon shifter and their mate.

There is some moderate angst due to rejected mates vibes by two MMCs who need to pull their heads out of their asses (looking at you, Grumpy Cat Easton and Professor Maddox), but the rest of the males are ALL-IN from the first moment they meet Hayden. I loved the golden retriever, Knox, and the touch-her-and-die combination of Cáel and Cillian. I cannot wait to see how their relationships evolve through the series. They will be helping Hayden navigate the truth of her shifter nature and coming to terms with having five mates.

The romance is medium-burn with mild spice.

I was so engrossed in the story that I was unprepared for that ending. Holy cliffhanger! These next few months until Book Two’s release are going to be rough as we wait to find out what comes next for Hayden and her mates.

What an excellent cast of narrators! This is the first of Tessa’s books offered with a full-cast production (also the first of her books written with multiple POVs). I loved the way the audiobook turned out. I felt a greater connection to each of the MCs, with them being given their own highly unique voice. Cillian was to die for dreamy!

Love this story so far. Can’t wait to listen to the next one. this book is not that spicy but it’s a good plot you don’t really miss it.

Everything I want!

It has everything I look for! It has dragons, hot alphas, slow burn for some and heat for others, and an older guy! i always love possessive males and smart FMCs! I really love this narrators!

Great story line

I just wish it wasn’t so much slow burn. So many things could’ve been different in the beginning and then the second book would’ve picked up more towards the middle of where the first book should’ve ended.
