Any comprehensive understanding of personality traits must take into account, gifted intelligence. The term gifted refers to an ability to sense, perceive and interpret the world in a quicker and more detailed manner than the bulk of the population. It turns out that those with gifted intelligence may be more prone to not only anxiety and depression but also to autoimmune disease and sensory processing sensitivities. In fact the literature is filled with examples of highly intelligent people suffering many physiological responses as a result of heightened neural circuitry in the brain.
