Army combat veteran and registered nurse Erin Olszewski's most deeply held values were put to the test when she arrived as a travel nurse at Elmhurst Hospital in the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic. After serving in Iraq, she was back on the front lines - and this time, she found, the situation was even worse.

Rooms were filthy, nurses were lax with sanitation measures, and hospital-acquired cases of COVID-19 were spreading like wildfire.

Worse, people who had tested negative multiple times for COVID-19 were being labeled as COVID-confirmed and put on COVID-only floors. Put on ventilators and drugged up with sedatives, these patients quickly deteriorated - even though they did not have coronavirus when they checked in.

Erin wasn't about to stand by and let her patients keep dying on her watch, but she knew that if she told the truth, people wouldn't believe her. She began to share what she found on social media. Unsurprisingly, she was fired for it.

Now, Erin is standing up to tell the whole horrifying story of what happened inside Elmhurst Hospital to demand justice for those who fell victim to the hospital's greed. Not only must the staff be held accountable for their unethical actions; but also, this kind of corruption must be destroyed so that future Americans are not put at risk.

She tells it like she saw it! I appreciate her coming out with her story so people can see the truth of what was happening in the hospitals. So many people died that could have been saved. What is most surprising is that no one in the hospital would listen to her and other fellow nurses. No one wanted to hear about the issues that were actually killing patients. It's like they didn't care, they were making money, and they were all going along with a plan (to kill as many patients as possible!). The question is WHY? From her story it almost seems like she was dealing with actors not medical doctors (I think maybe they were dentists she said?), because they certainly did not know what they were doing and they were not acting professionally or in the best interest of the patients. I had seen her story and her video interview so it was nice to see the bigger picture. I liked how she went into her background as a child and in the army. Overall it was a good book! PS it's Latinos not Latinx- get out of here with that!

thank you for writing this book and to put it out there even further for people to maybe understand. I lost my son-in-law 4 months ago for the same reasons. we know it's not covid that's killing these patients. I am believing that one day this will all come to a head and Justice will be done for those victims and their families. thank you so much

thankful for your willingness to share!
