Private investigator Robert Brixton has always hated Washington. Against his better judgment, he decides to stick around and take a job as an agent in a new State Department security agency headed by his former boss at the Washington P.D. After work one day he meets his youngest daughter, Janet, for a drink at an outdoor cafe. Shockingly, a young Arabic woman blows herself up, killing Janet and a dozen others. Seeking revenge for his daughter, Brixton follows the tracks of the bomber to a powerful senator's son.

Brixton finds himself digging deep into what turns out to be a small but powerful cabal whose goal is to kill embassy workers from nations involved in the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan. Donald Bain thrills again with Undiplomatic Murder, the riveting next installment in the Margaret Truman's beloved Capital Crimes series.

struggled to finish never held my attention . It seemed endless. Would not recommend to others who want a good mystery.

iffy

Margaret Truman still has it after all these years! Wonderful book, great story written by a real professional!

The best!

This story is engaging and interesting. . . focusing on very contemporary issues related to national security. Evil doers are close at hand, and with their riches, infiltrate even the highest levels of government meant to protect US citizens. (A bit too true for comfort.)

My main criticism is with the too-neatly-tied-up epilogue. Everything is just ROSY; after horrific events and experiences throughout! Just seems a bit implausible to me.

While I have been a fan of some of Dick HIll's narrations, in this one, he has trouble with pronouncing names and places left and right. Let's just say the words don't exactly roll off his tongue. More like a novice newscaster reporting on people and events in the Middle East.

Still, I mostly enjoyed the story. . . have just listened to so many books that were several levels better overall.

Good, But Somehow Unsatisfying

Unlike other reviews of the series since Ms Truman passed I have enjoyed all that I have read. Narration by Dick Hill can not be beat and the characters and stories are well constructed and developed.
Will continue to buy and listen And I do not believe you will be sorry you gave the series a "shot"...sorry😀

Many faceted, interesting and well paced
