Accused of killing her father and brother by her lover, Nicole Carlson is on the run. Someone impersonating the district attorney has placed charges of murder against her and the situation is dire.

Hungry and looking for help, Nicole stumbles into an outlaw camp. After falling in love with one of the outlaws, she rides with the gang, turning into a tough, no-nonsense woman. While her life has taken a dramatic turn, bounty hunter Sky Moran (from the book The Crew) is hunting for the gang Nicole joined. Many tumultuous adventures ensue.

United States Deputy Marshal Dusty Dunn is instrumental in getting the charges against Nicole dropped. Dusty and Nicole then hunt for her father and brother’s real killers. While hunting the two killers, the two develop a rocky relationship, but it is so capricious that Nicole more than once threatens Dusty. Will anything become of this volatile relationship? Other romantic interests come and go; will they threaten what may come? Will Thomasina (Tommy) and JoEllen from The Crew intervene in what they feel is best for Dusty and Nicole?
