Armadillo shifter, Ava, learned that early on, so to avoid being denied for the UnValentine’s Day party at a rustic mountain inn, she tells a little white lie that snowballs her down a path she doesn’t expect. Brock is kind, handsome as hell, and a dominant personality compared to a submissive shifter like herself. He’s fun, and easy to be around, and her body ignites around him, but she is here for one reason, and one reason alone—to escape the pressure of the holiday. The last thing a girl like her needs is romance on Valentine’s Day, but Fate just might have other plans.

Even with a virtual narrator, her storytelling pulls you in every time.

Ava is my spirit sister! I loved the moment about shaking hands. My dad always taught me the same thing growing up—look people in the eye and give a firm grip—so that line made me smile.

This is my favorite book by T. S. Joyce so far. I’ll admit, I’m usually not a fan of virtual narration because it can sound a little flat and lacks the nuance of a human narrator. But T. S. Joyce’s writing is so clever, funny, and engaging that it completely carries the story.

Even though the books are shorter, the character development is impressive and the storylines always pull me in. I’ve tried other audiobooks with virtual narration and couldn’t stick with them, but her stories hook me every time.

I love the Armadillo!

This might be a shorter story but it still packs a punch! It’s about accepting yourself and finding that one person who can accept all of you. Now it isn’t all mushy mushy. There are sweet and humorous moments too. First I love the whole idea of an Un-Valentines day. Second...I hate to say they Cornelius was a great secondary character.... it he is. I think because of her love for him being what he is...so she wants to accept him. Thirdly and this could be the most important to me....Armadillo! One of my favorite animals! So having one get their own story just made me deliriously happy.

Overall another great story from this author! Perfect in time for Valentines Day. Whether you celebrate or not!
