There is so much pressure to perform, sometimes it can be crushing. It's good to know I'm not alone and there are actually a lot of athletes who can perform at a high level physically but are struggling mentally. This book was helpful to learn that not only does this happen to a lot of athletes, but this book also has solid advice for how to overcome it.

Whenever I'm in the middle of a hard workout or run, I always relate this one mantra "The mind quits before the body." We often think we're training physically, but our bodies can push further than we even realize; it's the mind that gives up. This audiobook does a great job of illustrating the importance of mental toughness and how to strengthen yours. Especially for a young athlete in such competitive times, the mental edge can make you stand apart from your peers. Highly recommend.

I got this for my kid, who just had to venture outside of his comfort zone after being accepted into a basketball academy.

The fact that it is written from the perspective of a youngster or adolescent and not just an adult giving advice appeals to me. Excellently written and simple to read.

A very good book on mental strength for young athletes. Being interested in the topic myself, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Discusses well how common mental health issues can be, even among elite athletes. Gives valuable tools on how to rewire your thinking, increase mental toughness and confidence, cope with pressure and find balance in life. I can definitely recommend this book to budding athletes.
