Though forced to fight for the hated British, Morgan MacKinnon would no more betray the men he leads than slit his own throat - not even when he was captured by the French and threatened with an agonizing death by fire at the hands of their Abenaki allies.

Only the look of innocent longing in the eyes of a convent-bred French lass could make him question his vow to escape and return to the Rangers. And soon the sweet passion he awoke in Amalie had him cursing the war that forced him to choose between upholding his honor and pledging himself to the woman he loves.

A great historical drama with romance.

The series is wonderful. The passion is off the charts. The sexy times are relatively few but very hot.

The narrator is excellent.

Loved it!

Would you consider the audio edition of Untamed to be better than the print version?

Never read the book

What did you like best about this story?

How well it was written. The person reading the book put some much feeling into the reading that you came in vision all that is happening is real. This is the first one I have listen to and when I finished it a bought the other two right away. The love they have for each other is like no other book I have read. The history of the war is true to all the history books I have taught from. If you don't like hot sex scenes, the ones is this book aren't to graphic but you can feel the passion of love making. I will read this book again when I need to know that there is good in the world no matter how many wars have been waged in the world.

Which character – as performed by Kaleo Griffith – was your favorite?

Cameron. He is a true fighter. I have had many on my family in wars I and I believe that Cameron fights just like any our military men and women fight today

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

True men and women fight for their county and family and for what is right.

Any additional comments?

I will read this book again and maybe buy the book for my friends to read. So they will know why military family stand behind their sons, daughters and family to keep our country free.

what a story I'll never forget

I have gone back and listened again to all of my Pamela Clare audio books. I love them all, all over again. I love the strong male characters and the strong woman that they love. The stories are only enhanced by the voice of Kaleo Griffith. Looking forward to many more of the talented pairing of Clare and Griffith.

second time around and still a good listen

It was a great book!

The first book of this series introduced me to author Pamela Clare and narrator Kaleo Griffith. I enjoyed both so much, I downloaded this second book the day it was released. It did not disappoint.

Most romances set in this period tell the story of the French and Indian War from an English perspective. The heroine Amelie is the daughter of the commander of a French fort, so we experience events through Gallic eyes.

The heroes in this series are pretty standard romance novel fare; something torments them, they're big, handsome, nearly indestructable, yada yada. Its the supporting characters I find intersting. The women have interesting stories. The Native American family members add interest and inhabitants of the forts provide context for more complex story lines.

I anxiously await the third book. But then we' ll be out of MacKinnon brothers!

A French perspective. Nice change.
