The single glass of wine with dinner... the cold beer on a hot day... the champagne flute raised in a toast... what I'd drink if Hunter S. Thompson wanted to get wasted with me... these are my fantasies lately. Too bad I've gone sober. When Sacha Z. Scoblic was drinking, she was a rock star; the days were rough and the nights filled with laughter and blackouts. Then she gave it up. She had to. Here are her adventures in an utterly and maddeningly sober world... and how she discovered that nothing is as odd and fantastic as life without a drink in hand.

I enjoyed this book. I found it to be inspiring and helpful in recommitting to my sober path. Unlike some others I thought that the narrator was fine.

Well written.

This is the first audiobook I have just stopped in the middle. I couldn’t listen to the narration for another minute. I’m sure the book was good, but sadly I will never know unless I actually read it myself.

Narrating ruined it for me

Well written story & storyline. I was not a fan of the narrator, but perhaps that’s a personal experience!

Good writing

I loved this book and Sacha was brought to life by the narrator in a delightful way. Her experiences different from mine, but so familiar. In my 20th year of sobriety now, I felt oddly called out by so many of the life lessons she learned… 30 grand in credit card debt? Ooof - raises hand - me too Sacha. Thank you for so many pearls of wisdom, and for your honesty.

Wonderful, witty, inspiring and funny

The writing is smart and often hilarious, I must liked the way this book doesn’t sugarcoat recovery but is still very inspiring
