Ever been tempted to pretend you were someone exotic, someone adventurous, someone different?

Set in Ireland, England, and Australia, this is the funny and heart-warming story of two people whose lives are about to turn upside down and inside out. Eva is off to Australia on a break from her job in a Dublin delicatessen, hoping to forget a fizzled romance and find inspiration for a new career. Joseph is taking a holiday from his stressful London job. Each is on a search for some answers about life. Then something quite unexpected happens. They meet each other.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Work on the story.

Has Upside Down Inside Out turned you off from other books in this genre?

The characters were not ones I would want to know. Eva was pathetic. What was with her inner voice stuff, it was creepy.

Would you be willing to try another one of Melissa Eccleston’s performances?

Her voice was not bad, but you could hear her swallowing and having a dry mouth. I am not sure if this was poor editing, but it was unpleasant to listen to.

Any additional comments?

The story was way too predicable. It was whiny and predicable.

The story was slow and whiney.
