Valmiki Ramanyam- Balakandam. రామాయణం ఆదికావ్యం గా పిలవబడుతుంది. వాల్మీకి మహర్షి రచించిన ఈ ఆది కావ్యాన్ని రచయిత శ్రీపాద సుబ్రహ్మణ్యశాస్త్రి గారు వాల్మీకి ఏకాండకు ఆకాండ తెలుగులో వచనానువాదం చేశారు. అందులో మొదటిది బాలకాండ. ఈ బాలకాండ లో అయోధ్యానగర వర్ణన గురించి, దశరథుని అశ్వమేధయాగ సంకల్పం గురించి, పుత్రకామేష్టి యాగం గురించి మొదలుకొని రామ లక్ష్మణ భరత శత్రుఘ్నుల బాల్యం నుండి వారి పెళ్ళిళ్ళు మరియు నవోఢలతో గృహప్రవేశం చెయ్యడం వరకు చక్కగా వివరింపబడింది. బాలకాండ లో చిన్న చిన్న కథలని ఎన్నింటినో అద్భుతంగా అనువదించారు శ్రీపాద వారు. Ramayana is one of the greatest epics, ascribed to the Maharishi Valmiki, narrates the life of Rama, a legendary prince of Ayodhya city in the kingdom of Kosala. The holy scripture was translated in Telugu by Sripada Subrahmanya Sastry. Sripada translated all Khandas (parts) in Telugu in his style. The first one is Bala Khanda. It depicts the story of King Dasaratha, his yagas to have kids, the birth of Rama, Lakshmana, Bharatha, Satrugna.
