Stephen tries to hire Peter, who is hesitant to take the case, worrying it may reveal skeletons from his past. Eventually, Peter agrees but quickly becomes frustrated by how little Stephen seems to know about the woman he claims to love. The case takes a turn when Peter realizes her disappearance may be connected with an infidelity case he is simultaneously working. Is Samantha the woman Stephen thinks she is? Peter may have to risk his life to find out.

Fantastic, unique and captivating story

I really enjoyed this audiobook. It’s a unique storyline and the narrator does such a great job reading in a Hungarian accent with different voices of each character. I can’t wait to listen to the whole series.

A Thrilling Read

My husband and I just finished listening to this book. We really enjoyed it. We enjoyed the pacing and mystery. We liked that Dave wrote it with enough detail to make it interesting without it being graphic, lewd or lots of language. His descriptions of the city made us want to visit there. We really enjoyed that the story was set in a place we don't usually read about. It made us want to learn more about Budapest. We enjoyed the subtle hints to a surprise ending. We have listened to several books with Kirby as the reader and always enjoyed his performance. Kirby's performance on this book was also great. We think this is a great first book and highly recommend it!

Compelling. I couldn’t stop listening.

This book kept getting better and better. I would plan on listening till the end of the chapter and find myself not being able to wait to continue . The characters were compelling and interesting. The villain was truly frightening. I can’t wait to listen to the next book. I hope DJ Maughn continues to write. Looks like he has a great future ahead of him.

This is an exciting and twisty crime thriller!!
This story follows Peter Andrassy, a retired NYC detective on some adventures around Hungary. He wanted a fresh start somewhere new as he was struggling with guilt over his wife’s murder. He takes a job as a private investigator and has some wild cases he works on trying to solve.

The story is very suspenseful and entertaining! It’s well written, has good character development, and totally sucked me in!
I listened to the audio version and the narrator did an excellent job! I highly recommend listening to the audio!! The accents and overall storytelling was so good!!

*I recommend checking out this Vanished series!! I’m excited to move on to book 2!*
