The crew of the system defense boat Viper does everything it can to harass the enemy and help win back their homeworld when the enemy Vazirans invade their solar system. They face long odds as they are called into action again and again in a variety of environments. They must work together and rely on stealth, speed, cunning, and courage to get through.

Can they defeat the Vazirans and save their homes?

As a fan of Traveller, I loved this book. Write more, take my money! Very much a Traveller feel, it also has a good story and the narrator conveys it well.

Loved it!

The story took way too long to get started, with way too many little explanations that repeated. So much telling, very little showing. This book needed a professional editor.

The author clearly wanted to put a submarine in space but couldn’t keep it there and had to also put it in water. The story at least had an ending of sorts, but this reader has no desire to continue in the universe.

Females in the story were cardboard with no real depth (true of most of the characters really) especially the MC wife who existed entirely as a support for the MC as the dutiful wife we hear a lot about but only briefly see in the story twice (both times including hints at the only real thing the MC wanted to do with her).
