Visions for the 21st Century was a powerful forum for religious leaders, diplomats, nongovernmental organizations, and educators to present their visions for the next century.

The interfaith assembly, inspired by the acknowledgment of the need for “the political to be informed by the spiritual”, urged the United Nations to provide a new paradigm of thought that centers on the responsibility for fostering global values of caring, compassion, and tolerance.
