This is the 2nd Rosamunde Pilcher book I’ve read. The first was “The Shell Seekers.” I loved that book so much that I had to find other Pilcher novels and started my journey with this one.
It’s not quite as good as “The Shell Seekers,” but I REALLY enjoyed it. The set up is the same: the storyline is one main character (Laura), and the rest are characters whose lives intertwine with hers.
This story has a mystery thrown in that is a side plot IMHO.

I think Pilcher is a great writer of modern books. I usually prefer the classics, but these have been delightful. As an American, I’ve been quick to add visiting Cornwall on my bucket list.
One note: I wish the chapters had titles.

What a sweet story! It was just the kind of story I needed on this snowy, cold weekend!

I loved it!

In times of great strife in the world, I always look for a Rosamunde Pilcher book to calm me. Although I prefer her long tomes, I decided to try a short one. This one served the usual purpose spectacularly, and read by Jilly Bond, my favorite narrator of RP’s books.

Rosamunde Pilcher, always calms me

It is a lovely story to be enjoyed on the beach or in a backyard garden on a hot summer day. Romance and mystery is one of the perfect pairings and the other is the author and narrator.

Story compelling, weaving many characters and themes in an appealing way. However, the narration at times sounded a skosh too fast or dramatic, creating listener did-ease.
All came right in the end, however, leaving me with wonderfully calm feelings.
