REFLECT ON THESE:
1-“Africa, according to Dr. Walter Williams, Professor of economics at George Masson University, USA, who wrote and asserted, “In terms of natural resources, Africa is the world’s richest continent”.
4- “Truly and indeed, Africa is the Greatest GOLD-MINE waiting to be harnessed for the expected global transformation and sustainable development.”
Africa, have immense potential to birth her greatness and contribute to the world in diverse ways and manner that have not be fully realized and harnessed. This book contains an array of some key areas where these hidden potentials- or what I termed: The “BLACK GOLD-MINES” could contribute significantly towards Africa’s growth and the advancement of the world today.
WELCOME TO AFRICA-
Behold! Africa, a continent of five regions of: Northern, Central or Middle, Southern, Eastern and Western of abundantly endowed 54 countries, with vast opportunities in the areas of the Green resources for the circular economy, Minerals, Abundant sunlight for Solar and Renewable Energy and as well as Digital technology resources that are needing attention through innovations for the needed recovery and advancement drive.
Africa with her expansive land mass which is estimated at 30,212,000 square kilometers representing 22.3 percent of global total land area, though degraded in most countries and regions, could be harnessed and restored through technology innovations for smart and commercial smart organic agricultural production that could boast food production for humans and animals’ survival and sustenance.
To put this perspective right, in my other book titled: “MOVING AFRICA FORWARD,”
I quoted some recent studies that have estimated for instance, the total employment effect of the restoration economy ranges from 10.4 –to- 39.7 millions jobs per $1 Million USD invested. And to further set this into present realities and perspective, the oil and gas industries which has been the main industrial and economic hub of most African countries, could only support approximately 5.3 million jobs per $1 Million USD invested. In this context, it is further suggested that restoring just 12 percent of degraded agricultural land within countries and regions in Africa, could boast smallholders’ productivity and income by $ 35-40 Billion USD per year and feed an estimated 200 million people in Africa per year within the next 15 year
Yes! The new Africa of our Dream is not just possible but very realizable.
The old dictum says “For a man to live in poverty when right in his door step is gold; it indicates an unintelligent approach to life.”
All that is mostly needed now, is for Africans and the world to re-direct and re-focus investments drive in Africa into innovations in harnessing the abundant resources - large water bodies, the abundant sun light, the expansive landed property, the sands, forest, renewable energy and other natural resources including the Digital technologies space for a robust green and circular economic gains and we could have a better and sustainable Africa of our dream. I opined that, if Africa and the world could re-focus her efforts and invest in innovations for instance, in the areas of ORGANIC, DIGITAL and RENEWABLE ENERGY in the scope of SMART COMMUNAL/MECHANIZED AGO-ECOLOGICAL TECHNOLOGICAL concepts, Africa and the world could be relieved from the crunches of climate change, poverty, hunger and social injustices.
And here is the focus of this book, which is, discovering the BLACK -GOLD-MINES –simply, the abundant unharnessed opportunities in Africa for her Development and world advancement.
