All of us have been affected by what we've been seeing on television about people and families affected by the storm. When a catastrophe like this takes place, individuals are thinking about where God is in the picture. The Scriptures declare that God communicates to us through storms, through calamities, and through disasters. The challenge is: Are we listening? Are we paying attention to what God is saying to us? However, rains have become deadly and destructive, causing tornadoes and devastating floods. It reminds us of how precious life is and how too much of a good thing can become a problem. But today, the sun shines and the skies are blue. So, in this short truce from the rain, we remember that after every storm there is at least a small sun. The rains will light, the sun will shine, and the promises of God will always be true. The Bible says, "We keep the hope we profess because whoever promised is faithful." (Hebrews 10:23 ). Look at the rainbow and keep the glimmer of hope that rainbows mean that the sun is behind those clouds. See that the sun shines again, even for a fleeting moment. Enjoy the brightness of your light. Hold hope and remember that God is with you in the storm, even when the sky looks dark. Be strong and brave. Do not be afraid; Do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
