The Cowans and the McLeod brothers forge a bond those first few days, sustained in part by Trent's attraction to the 18-year-old Becky Cowan. His overtures are not returned.

The brothers join the Cowans on their hazardous journey west as they face harsh conditions, bandits, and Indian attacks. Will their oxen survive the trip? Will the man Bruce Cowan is fleeing catch up with them? Should they take the Cimarron Cutoff through the desert or stick with the Santa Fe Trail through the mountains?

Even with the help of Trent and Pat, the Cowans are forced to learn quickly to survive the rigorous demands of the Wild West.

Moving story suitable for mature children and the family as a whole . Great narrative to accompany someone engaged in mundane routine work .

Good Western story of what traveling by wagon train through the untamed west was like , facing indian attacks,criminals, and tornado.
Has lots of action,adventure,and some romance.

WAGONS WEST

This is about a wagon train. I normally don't listen to books with wagon trains for the story line. But I liked this one. Trent and Pat are brothers and signed on to guard a wagon train. They hire on with Digger but find out he's not honest and quit but still help the train because they like some others in the group. There is a lot of action and a good story in this book. They have to fight Bandits and Indians also. I didn't like the fact they didn't want the bounty money like it was something bad. Scott Miller does a good job narrating this book. Entertaining Western About A Family Traveling West

A very good book that focuses on the story rather than the details of what life was like in the olden days. There’s a lot of killing that doesn’t quite fit with reality, but the story holds up and I was left wanting more when the book was finished. There is no gore or truly upsetting detail to be concerned with, so I definitely would recommend this book to almost any age reader or listener.
