Amanda Knox spent four years in a foreign prison for a crime she did not commit, as seen in the Netflix documentary Amanda Knox.

In the fall of 2007, the 20-year-old college coed left Seattle to study abroad in Italy, but her life was shattered when her roommate was murdered in their apartment.

After a controversial trial, Amanda was convicted and imprisoned. But in 2011, an appeals court overturned the decision and vacated the murder charge. Free at last, she returned home to the U.S., where she has remained silent, until now.

Filled with details first recorded in the journals Knox kept while in Italy, Waiting to Be Heard is a remarkable story of innocence, resilience, and courage, and of one young woman’s hard-fought battle to overcome injustice and win the freedom she deserved.

With intelligence, grace, and candor, Amanda Knox tells the full story of her harrowing ordeal in Italy—a labyrinthine nightmare of crime and punishment, innocence and vindication—and of the unwavering support of family and friends who tirelessly worked to help her win her freedom.

Waiting to Be Heard includes 24 pages of color photographs.

I never followed the Amanda Knox story on the news as I don’t follow the news much at all. I saw this on sale on audible and read reviews. It sounded interesting so I gave it a listen.
INCREDIBLE story. Don’t hesitate to buy it. It’s nice that Amanda narrated it herself. Her journey in Perugia was so interesting to follow. It’s maddening to see how the Italian police and judicial system overlooked obvious lack of evidence before imprisoning a person. It’s upsetting that she was left there for so long while the prosecution and police looked for reasons to peg her and even lied about her mistreatment.
The end of the book gave me such a light feeling. It’s as if I was experiencing such tribulations right alongside her. I am happy things worked out for her.

Well worth the listen!

I have been waiting to hear this story from Amanda ' s side since that fateful day. I was a study abroad student living on Via Appia in Perugia, near the house she lived in. I vividly remeber what is was like after the murder and now I finally got to hear the whole truth from start to finish. Glad you are finally free of it all Amanda. Congratulations!

I lived in Perugia when this happened!

As a trial lawyer in Florida I can see how this "perfect storm" resulted in such such an injustice. I'm so proud of Amanda in fighting for the truth and I'm so glad that she is pursuing this as a cause and I hope that never happens to anyone ever again. Shame on the police and an unjust prosecuter!

I binge listened to this book all weekend and just finished it. It was captivating, and hearing it in the author's own voice made it only that much better. I sought out her book after watching a documentary on Netflix and am so very glad that I did. Her story is powerful and absolutely worth exploring.

An incredible, inspiring journey
