I like this series !!!

loved it. Another captivating story by this author,
I'm getting use to this narrator and he is not as bad as other comment express.

Great story and narration

It keeps you on your toes- great twists and easy to listen to . I definitely recommend this book and series

Great Southern Gothic

This one had everything from a creepy mystery, to some even creepier paranormal touches. Action, psychology, and puzzle solving, but also touching character development.

Beautifully performed, with the slow, deep, drawl of the Tennessee hill country present, but not in a way that was comic, or contemptuous.

I admit that I was surprised by whodunnit. There was a whole school of red herrings, and I dined on a few of them!

If Southern Gothics appeal to you, give this one a try. My favorite in this series so far.

I enjoyed the story line

This second book of listen to in this series. I too fast forward through the sex scenes. They don’t enhance the story line.

Becoming predictable

So far I’ve listened to three of the books in this series. The stories themselves are riveting and surprising which I enjoy. However, a repetitive theme is becoming quite predictable, and frankly quite annoying. Every book so far has a female investigator with some past issue of abuse - she is always smart, gorgeous and built. She gets partnered with a local who she at first hates, but he’s a Greek god so she falls in bed with him, they have epic sex and the author just goes on and on and on about how hot these two people are and has in depth descriptions of sexual encounters that are not humanly achievable in the real world. I’ve started just fast forwarding thru that nonsense. I’m fine with romance and sex in a novel but it’s to the point that it’s cut-and-paste from one book to the other.
